thailand

Phuket, Thailand

so we decided to check out thailand, it had been on my mind for some time, and i had sick days from work so we jetted out of omaha with no plans, just phuket, some money and whatever it brings for 9 days. after chaos at LAX we were finally on our way after a 14 hour layover, i cant sleep sitting up so it was quite annoying with the long flight ahead. but after some drinks i felt quite cozy over the blue pacific. on arrival in thailand my best friend wanted to rent scooters for a day and stay up in a hostel for the night and i was cool with that. we ventured down some beaten paths outside of city limits and got lost. i programed my garmin for thailand roads, but i dont think mr. garmin is toooo acurate in that region, for a first with that thing. anyhoo we got lost but found this random bar, beside a river probably 15 miles from town. had some exotic drinks and left... on our way back to phuket that night, my bro billy ran out of fuel, of course. so instead of risking any crap we hid the cycle in the jungle for the night and rode double back to town with intentions of refueling in the morning. i thought for sure it would be stolen by then but to our amazement the next morning it was still there, and no harm no foul. we just told the rental dude we got lost and payed for the extra day, he was soo chill, really didnt care. my main goal was to go to ko phi phi island... i've read sooo much about it over the years and history of this place; it was my main goal. so we got a long boat taxi and took off about 10am. we hit all the lagoons, money bay was my fav of all. small with towering jungle filled cliffs on each side, with water more beautiful than cinnamon bay at st john island in the us vi's. la hona lagoon was overpacked with tourists that day, so we didnt stay long there, too many boats, noise, just felt chaotic for such a beautiful place. ko phi phi has to be the most beautiful island i been to and i highly recommend it to anyone. feeding the tourist friendly monkeys was my fav, billy got bit one, was hilarious, but a memory i'll never forget. it would have only been better if the monkey scouried up a palm and started throwing coconuts at him!!! that evening we retired to our hostel, and spent the rest of time roaming southern thailand. a beautiful country and i was really impressed with the locals. polite, friendly, and welcoming. i heard mixed stories before hand, but i had a great time with them. will def be back for a full moon party, maybe december 25th, any takers??? what a place though, i loved it.
