The Inca Trail

22nd-25th Nov We have just experienced probably some of the most challenging days of our lives, but wow, we saw some of the most spectacular scenery though. Let us take you on the journey that had been the Inca trail and Machupicchu. The trail is only 33km long, but takes three and a...

Llovia a mares. He subido andando y casi dejo el higadillo. Habrá con 1 o...

Inca trail - Day 4

Wake up at 4:00 this morning to start the last 2 hours of the trek to Machu Pichu. Some very hard steps leads us to where we should have the first view on Machu Pichu. Damned! it is full of clouds! Later on, fully sunny day and Machu Pichu is full of tourists. I don´t know what I prefer...

Inca Trail Trek - Day 4

In the pitch black we packed up our things, had a quick breakfast, put our head lights on and started our final trek to Machupicchu. It didn´t take us long to reach the Sun Gate for Sunrise. Absolutely spectacular! We sat and watched the sun come up behind us and over Machupicchu mountain...

Inca Trail

It is time for me to change the order of my life´s to do list, since the number one slot has finally been obtained "Machu Picchu". The hike was more than I could have hoped for, it was very challenging, rained everyday, but the views and the experience was unbelievable. The entire trip on paper...

Machu Picchu: Sagenhafte Stadt

Annäherung an Machu Picchu: Aguas Calientes

Day 6

Another day of trekking ... and one on which I thought I'd never get through. It wasn't the uphill portions that did me in, but rather the 1,000 Inca steps down from the last pass to the hostel near the ruins of Winay Wayna. Really, I've never felt my legs shake like that before.

Day 4

First we take the train, passing through Ollantaitambo to Kilometer 88 near the Llactapata ruins, and hike to the Three White Stones campsite, which may or may not be near Wayllabamba. My companion gets altitude sickness but fortunately at the campsite is a fancy-shmancy tour group and they...
