Jumping in Shanghai

Shanghai is very different from Beijing. It is much more of a western-like city with its impressive skyscrapers and very diverse population. It is also a perfect place to get some very cheap tailor made suits and shirts :)

Jumping in Sanya's "Tropical Paradise"

The first week of October was a National Holiday week for China. 1.2 Biliions Chinese were traveling that week! So we couldn't find any train from Beijing to Shanghai (except accepting a 30 hours ride standing in the restaurant carriage as there was no seat left elsewhere... no thank you)....

Jumping in the Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is at the very heart of the Chinese capital. It was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty and it is HUGE ! It consists of 980 buildings with 8,707 bays of rooms and covers 720,000 m²! But it can get a bit boring as, after a few...

Jumping in front of Mao

At the heart of Beijing, on the south wall of the Forbidden City stands the famous Mao portrait. Mao oversees the huge Tian'anmen Place. All the area is filled at any time with thousands of tourists (and maybe as nearly as soldiers!).

First Taxi Ride in China

On Sunday a small group of us went to one of the local restaurants. Such yummy food! I'm still trying to acclimate to the lack of air conditioning. Fortunately, we were able to flag down an air conditioned taxi. It cost us 6 quai to get to our destination.
