A day of truly nightmare public transport!!

This morning we left San Juan very early for us and took a walk up to the main highway. From there we took a jeepney to San Fernando where there was a huge parade going on through the town. Therefore, it took quite a while to navigate our way through the town and find an ATM and...

A chill out day

As we arrived pretty late in San Juan yesterday afternoon, Chris just wanted a chill day relaxing on the beach, watching the surfers. So we took a break and did very little except taking a short walk along the beach.

San Juan

Having felt we had made the most out of our short trip to Vigan we left early this morning after breakfast and travelled to San Juan. This is predominately aimed towards surfers, which obviously we are not, as the sea is pretty rough but that didn't stop it from being a...

A day of alternative public transport

Today we went exploring around Vigan. Firstly we went to a place where they make traditional terracotta pots crammed into a sidecar on a tricycle. Then we decided to get a horse-and-cart to go around the old town. What we really wanted to do was go through the...

From Pagudpud-Vigan

This morning after starving Chris all day yesterday feeding him only water he was back to being his usual self, so we decided to move on to Vigan. This was actually a lot easier than we thought it would be, taking a tricycle to the highway and then a bus came almost instantly! ...

Poorly Chris and stupid, stupid virus makers

Chris was up all night feeling really poorly, so although our plan was to leave today we decided it would be best to post-pone until he was well enough to travel. It turns out that it was the right decision as we turned the laptop on a little later to discover that a virus had...

A trip around Pagudpud

Today we had a friggin' awesome day, going on a trip around Pagudpud with our new-found tsunami refugees... The highlight of the day had to be swimming at the base of a 30m Waterfall! Then we went to a place called Aqua Grande This was via an amazing road...

Back on the beach...

After an exhausting night sleeping on a cold wooden floor we were delighted to be picked up and taken back to our comfy hotel after hearing that it was perfectly safe to do so. So after a power nap we headed to the beach where Chris went swimming for a while and we found a...

Manila

We arrived in Manila a day early and were given a big welcome by local entertainers at the pier. Manila is just a big city. People are very friendly and smile a lot even though they are very poor. They really like Americans especially since we liberated them from the Japanese at...
