London Baby

After a couple of great sleeps we've finally made it to my 'Father(s) Land'! Again, M&D were so grateful to have me with them - we skip all the queues! Uncle Steve Franklin was there waiting for us - what a great uncle he is: he was up at 3am to pick us up for 5.30! He drove us all the...

12pm on a quiet Tuesday and we arrive at Sheffield station and little has changed, except there’s lots of building work... er, yeah like I say nothings changed. Arrive home and greeted by a plump looking old cat, go and collect the dog from Kennels, yes she's still alive defying all medical...

Few days later...

Had a busy couple of days in London after the last entry, got a fair bit done and saw a lot. I have officially been over, on, under and walked over the Thames. Got that covered! We went to Greenwich which is longitude 0 degrees as well. We met up with my mate Mark in Wimbledon. I now know...

London Day 1

We arrived in London this afternoon, and to our surprise, the hotel had sent a driver for us...here we are, ready to head down and board the tube, and here's a driver with our name on a little board, ready to take us to our hotel...we were quite pleased! Our hotel...the Park City...is by far...

Leaving Samson and Goliath

So this is the date and this is the starting point of our trip. Nothing a good challenge to start with, we jump in at the deep end with a 5am flight to Frankfurt then a 13 hour wait in airport before 10 hour flight to Singapore!

Just setting up the blog...

I've added everywhere we're flying to (and from), on the map, but the dates after flying from South Africa to Hong Kong are all guesses at the moment. I've filled in some guesses at the overland sections as well, but everything in the Americas is highly speculative.

Wedding Gifts

Lots of people have been asking us about a "gift list". We don't have a gift list, partly because we already have most of what you normally put on it, and partly because we won't be able to cart them all round the world with us. Instead, what we are hoping is that people will donate something...

Made it after 33 hrs or so travelling...

Made it to the UK - Phew! Had our bags checked three times - everywhere except Heathrow, believe it or not! Brisbane, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Travel time was well over 30 hrs! Left Toowoomba at 7.30 Monday morning, got to the UK about 4.30 Australian time Tuesday afternoon. My feet still feel...
