Leaving paradise..
Antigua Guatemala
,
Guatemala
..coming to city-life, after 8 horrible hours on a shuttlebus without a chance to sleep OR rest, since the driver obviously was ready to get us killed a couple of times.. We were 10 pax in the bus, the five of us, plus the five from alaska. We finally arrived in Antigua about 3.30 pm, all of us checked in at Black Cat Hostel. Luckily they had 11 beds available, ause it was really crowded here. I miss
Lanquin
! Seriously, i kinda regret I didn`t stayed there for a while, so nice people working there and everything! But since my new friends are leaving for other countries in a few days, and I am staying here in Guatemala for at least a month, I want to spend time with them before they leave! The common area in "Gato Negro" is small, so you always fell like youre in the way for someone.. But Juni and Joar are leaving wednesday morning, Nick, Kristel and I will stay here till thursday, then Kristel will take a flight til
Costa Rica
, Nick will go to El Salvador, and I will take the bus to
Quetzaltenango
(Xela) for my spanishlessons! I suppose Antigua is a great city and all, but it`s raining all the time now, my whole body aches after that shuttle from
Lanquin
plus I think I`m getting the fever again.. So I`m looking forward to leave this town, wich is packed with tourists!
This is a picture, taken by Kristel, from the mini-van. I`m reading(or watching a movie), I am not sour!!! :)

Happy girls #1
After 7 hours on a shuttle from
Flores
, we arrived at El Retiro in
Lanquin
! So beautiful :) On the shuttle we got to know 5 people from Alaska, two girls and two boys. We checked in, had a chill evening with fish buffèt and got to know a bunch of people. Saturday morning we had a superb breakfast, before we went on a tour to
Semuc
Champey. Oh my gosh, that was paradise on earth! I just simply fell in love with that place. Beautiful waterfalls, caves, and astonishing view from the top! Our guide was great, showed us some amazing things. We half swam, and half crawled through the cave, slid down, climbed up. It was quite cold, so I think maybe Im catching a fever again..but it was definately worth it! Iam going back there, the manager at El Retiro hires backpackers to work for a while if they want, and I want to do that in December :)
That night we ate Mexican buffèt at the hostel, jummy :) And the next morning, sadly wee were off to Antigua. I could have stayed so mch longer at that place, but luckily I am going back there (hopefully, if nothing more interesting comes in my way;))!
So thank you, staff at El Retiro and my new friends from
Norway
,
Holland
,
Germany
and US, for sharing these wonderful moments with me, it was amazing!

Guatemala, the most colorful country <3
Flores
,
Guatemala
After Caye Caulker in
Belize
, I got into a shuttlebus to
Flores
, Guatemala. Got to know Juni & Joar, a norwegian siblingcouple, Nick, a german guy and Kristel, a girl from
Holland
:) They soon become my "family" :) We checked in to hotel Mirador in
Flores
, it was nice, beautiful view to the lake. We swam in the lake, it was so hot, around 6 pm it was 38 degrees celsius, and the water didn`t really cooled us down, but it felt good. We had italien dinner that night, Kristel and I shared a room. The next morning we got up
Tikal
Tikal
Smiling girls #2
at 4am, shuttlebus to
Tikal
, the maya ruins, temples and pyramids. It was really cool, we had a funny guide! So we spent most of the day there, when we got back to
Flores
, Joar and I had a looong swim across the lake. That felt so good, because, even though I have been walking and moved a lot so far on this trip, I have been eating so much good food, and been really lazy too. But I almost died a little bit, when we started the return I was so tired, I think it all in all was about a 1000 metres.
The next morning we took another shuttlebus, this time we were going to
Lanquin
, and
Semuc
Champey!!

A small piece of Belize
Belize City
,
Belize
We took the bus to
Belize
early saturday morning, and the boat from
Belize
city to Caye Calker. It`s really beautiful out here.
Yesterday we went on a whole day sailing trip, with Steve and Sous in Black Hawk company. Included in the trip was snorkeling gear, fruit, snacks, lunch, juice and rumpunch. We stopped and snorkeled three places, among them Hol Chan Marine resort and Caye Caulker marine reserve wich is the worlds second longest barrier reef. I touched wild nurse sharks!! It was amazing :)
Nurse shark
Wish Antonio could have come, you would have loved this man! We petted a giant black fish, we saw big turtles, starfish, barracuda, sting rays, octopus and we saw hundreds of beautiful colorful fishes, it was great!! Check out www.gocayecaulker.com for more information.
At the sailboat
Steve, the owner of the boat, took us out for dinner and a drink at "The reggae bar". We had a good lobster meal, with an excellent cheesecake for dessert. And way to many drinks at the reggae bar.. that, and the fact that I got really sun burned yesterday is the reason why I have stayed in bed all day.. What a waste of a day :( But tomorrow Tuesday, I maybe will go snorkeling again. Wednesday I will leave for Guatemala.

A lot of fun in Playa
Playa del Carmen
,
Mexico
WOW! What a wonderful time I have spent in Playa del Carmen. I will never forget it. I came here sunday 11th of october, and have had so much fun with many of the gang I got to know in Mexico city.
After to nights on Isla Mujeres Frode and I went back with the ferry along with two norwegian boys who lives and study in Playa del Carmen. We took the bus with them, from Cancun to Playa. Here we checked in at Urban hostel, wich was horrible. It was full of cockroaches, and mosquitos, and it was dirty, really dirty! And those who worked there were totally drunk when we arrived..hehe, I had to laugh about it. But in the end, grouse! That night we met Antonio, wich is one of te guys we got to know in Mexico city. e was there on a vacation, but lives here in Playa, so he invited us to take contact with him when we got there, and he would show us around. So the first night he took us out for a beer, and to check out the beach and the life. On our way back to the dreadful hostel we met Thomas, who was really drunk together with some english guys. But it was very nice seeing him again - after all he was my first friend in Mexico so I felt quite attached to him. On friday he will leave to go in his friends wedding on saturday, here in Mexico. But back to the point, he lived in another hostel, not far from ours, wich was clean and nice. Not much more expensive either. So the day after we moved to Youth hostel Playa. It`s a super hostel, clean, with a big kitchen and lot of room in the fridges, so we could by and cook our own food. Good music, a lot of hammocks, sofas, dvd, games, nice people :) And the icing on the cake; it was now Antonio, Frode, Thomas and me from the old gang; but suddenly Megan and Allison came, the Page sisters!! And we got to know a lot of other nice people. And Antonio took us places we could only dream about, thank you so much for that my friend!!! We even got to come along on his job to hold and swim with sharks!! That was amazing.
On saturday the 17 th I hurt my foot falling on the top of a stair, unfortunately, but htat is my luck I`m afraid. And I was suppose to move on, take a 12 hour busride to Palenque, but I woke up on tuesdat with a fever and sore throat. So I spoke with Enrico, an Italian/Swiss guy, he asked me if I wanted to go along with him to Belize, wich is a small country, halfway between Mexico and Guatemala. And so I did. Goodbye Playa, goodbye Antonio, I`m gonna miss you my friend.

From Greece to Mexico
Mexico

Mexico
From Greece to Mexico is wild! I love this country already, and I have only seen a little bit of Mexico city. The plane fom Greece to Marid was delayed, so when I finlly came to Madrid I didn`t make it on the next plane. The airline company beria paid for food and a hotelroom, and what a hotelroom! It was real luxury, I have never seen so fancy hotelroom befor, so it was too bad I only were there for like 7 hours. But I got to sleep a little andeat a lot, then finally I was off to Mexico! On the plane i got to know this sweet mexican lady. She spoke
English
very well, so she drew me a map of Mexico and advised me on where I sholud go. So the 12 hour long flight didn`t took to long. on the airport in Mexico city I got to know Thomas, a danish boy. We went to the hostel wich I had booked in to via Internett, and became good friends. In hostel amigo there was very good atmosphere, everyone smiled at you and we became a good group of people who did a lot of fun together. After we had checked in at the hostel we went along on a free city tour, that was interesting. But that night I was real tired, but we all celebrated a danish girls birthday, and that was fun, but I went early to bed. The next day we went to Theothiucan pyramids, and that was cool. Tomorrow, friday, me and Frode, a norwegian guy is taking a flight to
Cancun
, out by the coast. from
Cancun
we`ll takte a ferry out to an
Iceland
called
Isla Mujeres
(means the
Iceland
of the women). They say it is beatiful there.

Cancun, Isla Mujeres
Cancun
,
Mexico
After two nights in Mexico city I flew to
Cancun
with Frode a norwegian guy I met at Hostel Amigo in Mexico city. It was easy to book a ticket online, and we got it pretty cheap. When we arrived in
Cancun
, the warmth was so nice, since it was a lot colder in Mexico city(wich is much higher up of course!) we took a cab to the dock, bought tickets out to
Isla Mujeres
, everything was easy and took no time. The ferry-trip out to
Isla Mujeres
was nice, the wind was warm :)
Isla Mujeres
was much more city-like than I thought it would be, but it was nice. We stayed at Poc-Na, an OK hostel. We had a nice time there, with massage under the palmtrees, listening to the sea, good drinks and nice people. But the funniest thing; it was at least 14 norwegians there, that made me wanna leave! No affends, but I dont travel to meet a bunch of norwegians on an island in Mexico.. so sunday we left for
Playa del Carmen
:D We knew that some of the people we met in Mexico city was heading for Playa to, meeting them again would be cool!

Sailing in Greece
Athens
,
Greece
My journey started in Greece, accompanied by my dad, my friends Merethe and Reuben. We were meeting dads cousin, Finn, who owns a 54 foot sailboat. We spent one night in Athens, the following day we went to Acropolis, that was nice, but if you have seen one pole, you`ve seen them all - if you ask me. Then we took train and bus (that is; Merethe, Reuben and I took the bus) to get to Lavriòn, where the sailboat was. Dad and Finn took taxi, because they can afford it. The sailboat was a beauty, 4 cabins, plus one for the captain. Pretty big lounge, and sofa on the deck with a table. Space to lay and get tanned in the front of the boat. Three bathrooms. It was a nice boat, but for beig only 6 months old it was very used, but I guess that`s how it gets whn you rent it out.. So, this was our home for the next week. And it started pretty rough, especially for Merethe, she got really sea-sick, poor thing. But I think she got tougher during the week! We had some days with perfect weather, and it was nice starting the day with a morning bath in the beautiful mediterranien ocean. We stopped at some icelands, and the most pretty one was Hydra(also called Idra). There was an idyllic little town with everything you needed.
The week went by so fast, and saturday I said goodbye to the people, and took the bus to the airport to start the journey on my own.

Leaving Norway!!
Oslo
,
Norway
Just so the map will be correct, I had to make an entry on my departure from Oslo,
Norway
. The last night before I left I didn`t sleep much, I finished my packing, since that is always something I do just hours before I leave. But I hadn`t given much thought in the fact that I actually was going to be away from home for 6 months.. but everything works out! I dont waste my energy on stressing! I fell asleep on the plain, we landed in Berlin, and waited for the next flight for about 5 hours, but we enjoyed ourselves with beer and good food my dad, my friends Merethe and Reuben and my self.
So then the journey began...
