Rogue River
We had a wonderful time floating down the Rogue River in a rented raft! We aimed for the white water just for fun. We high centered it a couple of times - the river is pretty low. The category 4 rapids were onesies and twosies when we went over them. Our skinny companion - my friend's niece caught air as she bounced off the back one time but she landed back on her seat - she just needs more ballast. We didn't lose anyone over board.
We are back home now. We saw a great show in Ashland on a Hot August Night - but that wasn't the show... :) We saw Taming of the Shrew - it was great!!! Mom and Dad loved it!
When we got back it was cold and grey here in Everett. Really bummed Libby and I out. So we finally decided to plan our next vacation for Hawaii in January or February!! We'll let you know when we go!!!
Thanks for the comments my friends!! See you around!!

baby buckskin - just getting it's stockings

This is just one of the babies at my brother's ranch. They have 4 new ones. Three colts and one filly. Pam (my brother's wife) says this is unusual for Missouri Fox Trotters. They generally throw a majority of female foals. They were pretty happy about it. In the pictures - my brother is holding the stallion that threw the colts. His name is Image Maker.
My brother is an amazing Horse Whisperer. That young stallion will follow him around like a puppy and move on his command in the ring. He just uses hand signals to work him. It is absolutely amazing!!!
Pam trains and works with them every day. They have hired someone to help exercise and ride with her. It's alot of work!!! But boy are they beautiful!! And they are so gentle and well behaved - you can walk in the stalls and be around the momma's and babies and barely an ear twitches. Mostly they come over to get a scratch and sniff for treats!!! Evidence of how well they are treated and loved around there!!
I want one!!!!

It was the most beautiful day so far. It made me want to spend another day at the beach! But we were heading to Medford to get there that night and see my Mom and Dad. Next time I will allow more time and flexibility for weather and the beach. If it gets this nice - I'm staying longer!!!

It was too far from the beach and right on a busy highway. So – we drove up to Yachats and stopped at a couple of places until we found this one. We slept in the light house. It wasn’t a real lighthouse. Just looked like one. (See the next pic)
The most hilarious thing about it was not that it had bunk beds – but that the bathroom was as big as the main room (see the lower part of the red building on the right) and really beautiful!!!
What we didn’t know when I rented it – was that the light up on top was NOT fake (Unlike the plastic seagull) But it was lit up all night and flooded the room with light all night!!!! ROFL!!! The sleeping roll they left for us to sleep under on the top bunk spent the night over my head instead – and Libby slept in her sleeping bag on the top bunk….lol
