I have my backpack packed. I have my funds transfered into my Aus Bank account. I have my passport. I dont have my tickets through yet (anyday now hopefully). Travel insurance sorted. Leaving do in the local pub arranged. so much still to do though....

I booked this trip in December. It didnt quite seem real then - June seemed ages away, but 6 months has gone so fast and now i'm facing leaving everything i know behind for a whole year. I've quit my job, i've sold my car, im leaving 5 of the best friends i could ever wish for and a great family behind - on a whim, for an adventure, because i can - why? because i'm bored of the same routine week in week out, My job bores me and there is little chance of findng another because of the current economical downturn and because so many of my older friends with children or other responsiblities have stressed how much they regret not going to see more of the world other than the 2 week package holiday the have every year. Dont get me wrong though, i am so looking forward to this trip.

I'm travelling on my own, just around Australia. i dont quite have the confidence to go to a country that doesn't speak English without a friend with me just yet.
