Riding the waves of Surfers Paradise

Hi, Just came back from a day @ the beach.. Took a surfing course and yes they were right, they could make me stand within two hours! At this picture you can see how I started with my first wave: Her I'm getting out of the water again to make a left turn and ride te wave towards the...

Surfers Paradise

Hi there, Yesterday I drove from Byronbay with James (Canadean guy I met on the "spank me") to Paradise. He is looking for a job and I just want to kick back and relax.. Checked in to the Courtyard Mariot hotel in the centre @ the beach.. 34th floor with ocean view, fully equiped and has...

Christmas in Australia - BBQ on the beach!

With Karl in Sydney with Pam, Dan and Sean traveled to Surfers Paradise for Christmas... When we turned up at our new hostel, Sean was greeted with two massive boxes of Christmas pressies sent by his mum, dad and sister. In total there were 36 presents including lots of chocolate, alcohol and...

Hollywood on the Gold Coast

Well we made it to Kids Heaven and are staying at a Caravan park close to Movie World. We went to Moveworld yesterday and are off to Dreamworld tomorrow with a rest day in between. It was great and Riley went on all the scary rides and he was smiling in between screaming. Caitlin rode her...

A Day at the Races!

Surfers Paradise sticks to the formula of most resort towns, but on a bigger, flasher scale. Our arrival coincided with the Melbourne Cup. This is the biggest race day in Australia and we decided to use this as an excuse to get dressed up and spend the day drinking champagne at the Surfers...

Surfers Paradise: Exactly What It Says On The Tin

Arrived: 31/05/06 Left: 10/06/06 Firstly I discovered that a 90 minute fat burning, arse reducing walk along the beach is about 86% more fun than a 90 minute fat burning workout at Fitness First. I also discovered that attempting to body board (like a poofy version of surfing where you...

Big Things #1

I totally forgot about this guy until I was sorting my photos out the other day; Wet N Wild on the Gold Coast, Queensland, is guarded by this ever so slightly sinister kangeroo. You wouldn't dare pee in the pool with this monster watching over you.

Went Snorkelling...

Saw some fish. So that was nice then. I’d dragged my arse out of bed at some god awful hour leaving Emma tucked up so I could paddle my way out to an island in a kayak and breathe though a plastic tube for an hour or so. But it was worth it, I didn't see any dolphins or anything like that...

Wet N' Wild Water World

One of the best things about being a Brit in Australia is the fact that my idea of cold differs completely from everyone else’s which means we get to enjoy water parks in what is officially winter while the locals are curled up on their sofas clutching a Cup-A-Soup and shivering. No...
