Welcome to my travels. On this site you'll find recent trips and some very old trips. You'll note that for some trips I wrote very detailed reports (at least in the beginning), for others, I didn't even take notes of where I was on what dates. Nevertheless, I've done my best to document, to the extent I can, all of my major trips.

Day 3 - Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden

Overnight Ferry to Stockholm. Hit up the modern art museum, the Noble museum, the old town, and some of the more modern parts. Tried to see Skansen but ran out of time.

Day 2 -- Tallinn

Tallinn, Estonia

Hopped on the Ferry for the short trip to Tallinn, where we mostly wandered around the Old Town. Some interesting sights; very medieval as expected. Surprisingly, despite how touristy it was, there were some nice artists shops and galleries, although with a few good street musicians.

Day 1 - Helsinki the First Time

Helsinki, Finland

Arrival in Helsinki in the late afternoon. Some wandering around near the Ferry docks. Had a nice fish dinner at Restaurant Meri Makasiini. Since it was Sunday, very little was open.

Day 6 - Las Terrazas

Havana, Cuba

Visit Las Terrazas to learn about the environmental protection in this biosphere reserve. Sip a cup of coffee at Cafe de Maria. Visit three artists studios (Henry, Ariel, Lester). Lunch at Casa del Campesino. Continue the trip to the airport to board our flight home.

Day 5 - Vinales

Vinales, Cuba

Drive to the Viñales valley. Its landscape is interspersed with dramatic rocky outcrops. Lunch at Finca Agroecologica El Paraiso (farm-to-table). Amazing. Check in at casas particulares (private homes). Walk into Vinales and then horseback riding to a tobacco plantation. Dinner at family style. Evening music and dancing.

Day 4 - Photography and Art

Havana, Cuba

Morning visit to the School of Creative Photography of Havana Visit additional artists studios. Lunch at "Living Havana" for a Cubano. Afternoon at Finca Vigia,to learn about Hemingway's life in Cuba and the place that inspired him to write "The Old Man and the
Sea". More walking through old Havana and return to the hotel for rest. Dinner at Paladar "REJONEO".

Day 3 -- Passover

Havana, Cuba

Revolution Square, cemetery, Art Studio of Jose Fuster in Jaimanitas. Lunch at palador in Miramar area? In the afternoon, we visited the Museum of Cuban Art, studio of Painter Salvador Gonzalez, and the Mayot Family studio. The day ended with attendance at a Passover Seder at the local conservative synagogue.

Day 2 - Colonial Trails

Havana, Cuba

Walk through Old Havana. Lunch at “Paladar La Moneda Cubana". After lunch, complete the Old Havana tour visiting the Cuban Association of Artisans. Return to the hotel for rest and leisure. Dinner will be served at Paladar "Cuba Pasion".
