As soon as BiRT was free, we drove to Kashgar- that was 8pm so we arrived at 2.45am. everyone sung along to cheesy music sitting on the bouldering mats at the back of BiRT as it got dark. We had a brief stop at Lake Karakul which was near Mustagh Ata (7000m peak that is quite accessible). Again...

The end of China

Tashkurgan is the last place you can go along the KKH on a Chinese visa any further is Pakistan and sadly that's not on my itinerary for this trip. The town itself is a bit of a hole, as most birder crossings are, but the scenery getting here was again spectacular and there was also an old mud...
