Day 1: DONE! - Blogabond

So after having to re-check luggage, losing a day of my life, 2 hours of sleep, 9 hours of layovers and about 20 hours of sitting in airplanes we FINALLY MADE IT! First day spent in Aussie (pronounced OZZIE by the way) was spent hangin out with my host family, whom I already adore. The two boys, Luke and Ben, are so fun. They introduced me to a bit of Rugby and Aussie Rules (which is AFL, or Australian Football) which were really fun to watch. Hopefully I can catch a game of AFL while I'm here. I was also introduced to their older daughter and her husband over dinner, so we had a bit of good conversation. It's kind of hard to keep up with all the lingo. It was an early night for me as I was falling asleep at the dinner table.

Today we went to the QUT campus at Coboolture for our first day of orientation. We had a tour of the campus and got student ID cards to use while we are here. After coming back into town I finally got around to unpacking my bags and bought a cell phone to use while I'm here as well. I haven't done anything TOOOO adventurous yet, but there's still plenty of time :)

It's quite cold here tonight! Probably equivalent to mid-October. Jeans, a long sleeve t, and a hoodie aren't enough. I wish I brought more socks...
