coming up roses.

Dublin, Ireland

well, on sunday i was a little stressed out and upset about not having a place to live or a job...

funny how things can change so quickly.

yesterday i got a job AND a home! well, the home isn't fabulous but it's somewhere acceptable on a temporary basis while i look for something great. paradise poker called me yesterday and was very excited about my experience and that i'm canadian... but then this morning, an irish gambling company called "paddy's power" (i think) called me and offered me more money and it's in a better location...

so i think i'm going to take the second one. it sounds like a fun job, actually, and it sounds like a good place to work.

i'm very excited!

so, to celebrate, louise and i went out for a "couple drinks" last night... we checked out a few different pubs, a club in a basement, louise got her purse stolen, then we went home. other than the purse stealing, we had so much fun... then got home and i tried to cancel her cards and phone but all the customer service was in danish. that didn't work so well.

so today is moving day! i'm not exactly feeling up to it, but i guess i have to... can't very well hire movers to move my backpack and guitar.

(did i mention i bought a guitar?)

anyway, i hope everything is well at home and thanks again to everyone who comments, i really love them.

Send a Compliment

Yay for Britt!!!! Great that things are coming together nicely. I don't think I've played on Paddy's site but what the heck. So does that mean NO nuclear weapons allowed in ANY clubs over there?! Miss ya doll!

good to hear that everything is falling in place. i know when i was in Aberdeen i ended up landing two jobs, one during the day and one at night, and i took both. the daytime job was answering the phone at a furniture store - boy that was interesting they almost speak gaelic their so i was constantly saying pardon me, could you say that slower and what did you want. the other was in a nightclub, where i worked the purse check - hence the stolen purse - plus the coat coat - all seperate areas and then the bar - i'm definitely not a good bar tender, too slow and i mixed up drinks, so that didn't work to well so back to the coat and purse check. Have a great week Britt Myrn

Hahahah, didn't i just chat with you a couple days about maybe having to live in a cardboard box? Crazy...anywho, Paddy Power is a true Irish company so that is pretty cool...i am so jealous. You will see Paddy Power "bookies" everywhere there...plus they are the official betting site of Liverpool FC which happens to be the greatest football club in the world. Great to hear everything has worked out...cheers.

Congratulations with the job and the apartment (or whatever it is - looking forward to see pictures of the place). Funny how things change in a day or two.

And a word of caution. Judged by your blog-entries it seems that you got out quite often. When I was your age (roughly six years ago), I recall that we did not go out that often (and we certainly did not go to clubs with nuclear-weapon policies) and I certainly never got my purse stolen :-)

By the way, Britt. Have you seen Wiki's entry on SPANISH guitars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_guitar

NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS!?!?
What is this country that you're living in?

I demand you return to canada immediately.

WEEEEEE!

i'll help you move. Seriously, i will. Just pay for my busfare, and i'm THERE.

I'm glad to see you're having such a blast. I once went to a club that wouldn't allow nukes... culture shock, eh? what happens if you take your nukes out with you, and you can't fit them in your pocket or purse?! do those damn bouncers think they can go around confiscating NUKES?!

much love.
