May 30, 2011 - TT Race Practice

Today was the first TT practice day in Douglas. Luckily the weather was pretty good (i.e., no rain! because it was still damn cold!) and the practice went as scheduled. The side-car motorcycles went first and then the superbikes, which everyone came to see. I'm not into racing at all, but I have to admit it was pretty amazing to see those superbikes come screaming by the grandstand at 180+mph after their first lap around the island!! Crazy.

I'm off this tiny island tomorrow and on to Ireland, a slightly bigger island. I'll be heading for Kenmare, just south of Killarney in the southwest of Ireland first to help Jackie with her dog kennel and horse stable. I look forward to blogging from there in a day or two...
