Roel: I continue to be amazed at your tolerance of the vicissitudes of outrageous fortune that you have to endure on a daily basis. I don't think I could do more than one day of it. I say this having just returned from a 10-day extended-family trip to Ecuador & Galapagos. I was constantly beset by major life-threatening worries like: Would I suffer from altitude sickness? (I did, but it was relatively minor); Would my diuretic medication aggravate bathroom anxiety on bus trips and sightseeing? (it did, in spades); Would my Metamucil run out? (it did, figuratively, that is); Would I get the dreaded traveller's gastrointestinal problem? (no, but 3 out of 13 in our family group did). But all these contingencies were minor compared to what you have to deal with and in any case one was always assured of having a comfortable hotel or ship to return to. So I take my hat off, Roel.
