Hallo Amsterdam!

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Being in Amsterdam was one of the best experiences of my life! Even though i only had about three days there, it was well worth it. I got in Amsterdam on a Friday afternoon. When i got there, the first thing that i wanted to see was the Anne Frank House.

Due to me arriving later on in the afternoon, the lines were not that long. That was the house where Anne Frank spent years with her parents, her sister and three others with. It was where she wrote her famous diary. That was something difficult to get my head around.

The next day, i had some very delicious Stroopwafels for breakfast. After that it was off to the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. I somehow again avoided the rush as i was one of the few people who were there that early. After a good hour and a half, i was done with the palace.

My next stop after that was the Rembrandt House Museum. Rembrandt is one of my favorite artist so it was a very nice experience going to the house where he had made many of his works. He worked in this house for over 20 years. I spent a good hour in this house looking at over 260 etchings from Rembrandt. I had one more museum in mind for that day as i wanted to visit the Van Gogh Musuem.

Van Gogh's works have always intrigued me so i decided to go to
the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. The museum was actually the most visited museum in the Netherlands from 2010-2011. I spent a good amount of time in the museum. I actually stayed until it was about closing time which was at 6 p.m. After a very interesting day looking at art and palaces, i decided to take a beautiful Canal tour which was very much worth it.
It shows you how amazing the city of Amsterdam really is.

My last full i decided i would make it worth my while. I started out my day going to Waterlooplein. I spent most of my morning at the flea market thinking of things to buy for souvenirs. For lunch i had a national food of the Netherlands, Patat met mayo, or french fries and mayonnaise. I wanted to not be full for all the walking that i would be doing later on in the day. Afer the flea market, i went to Vondelpark to take in the scenery.
I took some photos which turned out great. Vondelpark was a beautiful place to just relax. Ater some well needed relaxation time, i went to the place where i had been most excited to go, The Rijksmuseum.
I had wanted to see The Night Watch so much. The Masterpieces at the Rijksmuseum were truly magnificent. Seeing Rembrandt's work in person is really spectacular. I really enjoyed my time at the museum.

The next morning i over slept, taking in much needed rest. After i got up, i decided to go around Amsterdam on a bicycle until i left. I then got some last minute pictures for memories of this great trip!
