I am so glad you like Peru and the Andes! Am loving your photos which have triggered old memories of similar trek but in Himalayas in 1979 when I was overlanding to India prior to starting my MSC in social work. Never rode horses in Andes but looks a good idea. Altitude sickness is horrible isn't it. The trick is definitely to go very high and quietly acclimatise for a week then subsequently at slightly lower altitudes you feel amazingly fit and energetic! Speaking of which it is another beautiful day in Lewes so time to get the old man up (he is now 55 whereas for 4 mths I am still 54!)and take him onto the downs-more my scale nowadays!!
Dont forget to eat that fish I told you about-much better than truta. I think it begins with p and is several syllables long-3 maybe. If they have it it is usually a special of the day. I think they may refer to it as kingfish or some such aggrandising name in English.
