Day 4 - Last Day - (6/21/2009)

Damnoen Saduak, Thailand

So today I woke up at 5:30am and headed northwest to the bus terminal where i caught the 996 bus to Damnoen Saduak to see the floating market. The whole place is obviously marked for tourists but locals still go to buy fruits ands meats and what not, either way it was one hell of a time. I got ripped off, I'm used to it now, on my hour long boat tour through the market (i think i paid a little more than i should have, oh well.) but I really didn't care cause in the end being right in the middle of it all was awesome, i got some really good pictures too. After my boat ride, i got dropped off where i started which was quite far from the actual market maddness, so i decided to walk back to the center of the market and walk around this time. I had lunch there which was a noodle soup with a chicken leg and a pigs liver, yum. I took more pictures then headed back to where i was first dropped off to find out where the bus stop was to get back to Bangkok... I ended up asking local after local and walking for ever to finally see my bus on the other side of the road passing by me, I ran across 6 lanes and thank god someone else was running too and caught the bus drivers attention.
Two hours and one 20 min taxi ride later I'm back at the guest house. I then bring my laundry down and head out to see what weird things I could find cooking on the streets, then I see a durian cart and a few people huddled around it. I walk up and finally have my first taste of durian... I like it! Then somehow I end up buying a kilo of it and I mean a kilo of the edible part..... Don't ask... So now I'm in my room with a half litre of coke, one kilo of durian and soccer on the television. Yay for south east Asia.
Tomorrow i wake up at 3:30am to check out by 4:00am and find a taxi to take me to the airport to chexk in for my (hopefully) 7:35 flight to New Delhi!
byee!
