well, i got to Berlin with no problems.. thanks in part to the super nice military man i sat with from Chicago to dublin. he and i worked together to manage our way through the dublin airport to our connecting flights in the short amount of time we had between planes. i realized halfway to Berlin that my black hoodie wasn't so lucky.

so here i am, in Germany. all alone with no idea what to do with myself. the city is beautiful. so clean, and easy to get around. english hasn't been too hard to come by so far, with the exception of the train i was trapped on alone with the conductor lady that was yelling at me in german. eventually we managed to communicate well enough for her to understand the mixup wasn't entirely my fault (my directions from the airport to the hostel didn't mention i needed to switch from the S45 to the S41 train) and she helped get me on the right train.
