The kitchen sink

Harbin, China

We have a kitchen sink the size of a bathroom sink in America. We have no automatic dishwasher. We do have 3 potential dishwasher children. Teenager has no interest in developing potential in this area. Little Guy and Princess actually fight to see who CAN wash the dishes. Due to the shallow sink, there is about no way for the job to be done with out getting soaked, great fun if you are 4 or 5. Getting soaked even applies to the adult dishwashers. The adult dishwashers have the added problem that the kitchen was designed for a really short person, so even though I am 5'3'' I have to stoop to do dishes. Yuck. The ayi does dishes (yeah!!!!) but her method is to take a big bowl and fill it with water and wash that way on the counter. We are not sure of her rinsing method (some things are meant to be a mystery). Her method doesn't result in the dishes being as clean as out of an American kitchen. But we are not in America!
We have finally come upon a method of dishwashing that doesn't result in more laundry. The rain poncho! Lets say the kids went wild and there is much more enthusiasm dishwashing!!!
