May 16 2008 - Slightly over a year and half until departure

This started off so simple, a family vacation on a beautiful ocean-liner for 15 glorious days beginning December 20, 2009. We have plans to meet up with old and new friends we've made through various sites but, since this cruise is being sponsored by Cruise Freek Forums http://www.cruisefreakforums.com we get to travel with our travel agent as well. We're making pre-cruise plans to meet everyone in Manhattan, our TA has lined up a fantastic pre-cruise evening in the city. We're going do dinner at Rosie's O'Grady's but along the way we're going to have a Holiday Lights Tour of the City and then after dinner, we go to The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? Well, throw adult children into the mix and, it becomes more complicated. It all started when each of our grown children asked if they could bring companions and trying to remain open minded, we agreed.

Now, we've been informed that the parents of the friends of our adult children are interested in joining us. Great news for our Travel Agent but, it's been a bit of a struggle for us since one of the couples has never cruised - ever and now they're taking a huge plunge - albeit a GREAT plunge - and will be experiencing their first cruise ever on Cunard's Queen Mary 2.

So that brings us to this evening, I'm changed and waiting to meet these people and decided that I would blog about the event and the things leading up to what is sure to be a wonderful cruise.
