Bahia Asuncion....treasure of the Forgotten Coast

Bahia Asuncion, Mexico

I knew the moment I arrived...this was my personal paradise. Bahia Asuncion is a small fishing village on the west coast of mid baja sur, an hour and a half off the transpeninsular highway. This place has it all....spectacular long sandy pristine beaches, surf, sun, unreal fishing, whales, sea lions, kayaking to the nearby islands, mountains, desert, wildness and best of all, friendly locals willing to share their paradise with us.

The village is remarkably well serviced with many stores, excellent fresh veggies and fruit, gas station with deisel too, mechanics, tire shops, 2 internet cafes, restaurants, small campground, and even a hospital and health clinic. The trees and flowers are amazing and the people here take great pride in their community...it is a clean, safe village at the edge of the sea.
I fell in love with Asuncion the moment I saw it and dreamed of living here one day.
After years of camping on the beaches, I bought a little beach house and to make a long story short....ended up marrying the son of the woman who sold me the house....truly a fairy tale. Now we enjoy sharing our paradise with others....I love to see visitors eyes glaze over as mine did the first time I glimpsed this coast!
