My Stuff
Out numbered
Beijing
,
China
I have four roommates. I am the lone non-Chinese - very good for practicing my limited language skills. They set the bar very low for Big Noses, everyone marveling at my Mandarin. Very friendly and helpful roommates but... they give me reason to use earplugs at night! I feel like I'm in a college dorm.

Moroccan's Spirit

We decided to escape winter month in England to somewhere not too far; reasons are
1 you know kid on the plane only last 2 hours before they fed up and started to annoyed you.
2 coming close to Christmas now, end of the year, not much left to spend.
3 France,
Spain
, cold cold, where else, I have to use my travel knowledge to the limit.
Now i can't afford
Dubai
or any middle east countries as they are now footballer playgrounds,
North
Africa sounds hot to me as part of Sahara Desserts Egypt,
Tunisia
and Morocco are the big 3.
We pined down to Morocco now and have to choose between Agadir and
Marrakech
. To be fair, we love beach holiday and never spend a holiday without beach unless i went back to
Chiang Mai
,
Thailand
, my home town to visit my family. For some reason, we gave it a go, Marrakesh for 1 week in December 2011 anywhere else would have been better than England. Why not?
Got there it was lovely

I'll take the one at the back, please.

I was once surrounded by a dozen water vendors. The ones that pressed in close were animated and loud, waving the bottles in our faces. The ones at the back were quiet. I chose a vender at the back. Succumbing to the pushy tactics breeds more pushiness. It's like rewarding a puppy when they are well behaved rather than punishing them when they are naughty. On a similar note, I like to find the shop that is out of the way and not on the main drag. Those back shops appreciate their customers, are friendlier and tend to give better prices.
Yesterday I learned there was a wholesale tea market. How did I not already know that?? Even with a time crunch of having to get my buddy to the airport, I made a side trip to the tea market. The shop I selected was the last one behind down a short alley and not even visable from the street. The two women were very friendly and poured me lots of tea. I bought $100 worth of tea! It's enough to last me a while, though. It's definitely a neighborhood & shop I'll be returning to.
