My name is Rebekah. I am a Regular Pioneer (and have been for 6 years now). My home base is currently in Arizona, but my travels take me all over. Most of these adventures are centered around kingdom pursuits, whether that be preaching in unassigned territory or attending a convention on the coast. Anyways, these are my rovings and ravings and ramblings, enjoy.

Just a little about a trip to the rez...

Kayenta, United States

So first of all, let me say that this trip was in September, however, I had not heard of Blogabond yet, so I am posting it now.
Second of all, let me tell you, Kayenta is AMAZING. For those of you who don't know, Kayenta is a small town on the Navajo Reservation just north of Tuba City (although I really dont expect anyone who is not from arizona to know that either:P) It is very small, but to its credit there is a McDonalds, A grocery store and a pizza place. Anyways, Kayenta is amazing..why? The area, first of all, its a beautiful place, with large rock formations (it's a few minutes from Monument Valley, yeah you've heard of that before huh?) and the territory is amazing.
While we were there, we placed 6 books, several brochures, and ALOT of magazines. (That was between four, and we spent two days in service) But that wasnt even the best part, it was the people! The Navajo culture is soooo nice. They almost always talk to you and even when they dont, they are so nice. I had one lady who said: 'Oh, i'm so sorry, i just dont have the time, i'm cooking breakfast, i'm so sorry! I would listen but i just cant right now. I'm so sorry!'...it was amazing.
Anyways, my group consisted of Jalum, Lindsey, and David. David is from Flagstaff, Jalum is from Prescott and Lindsey came out to visit alllll the way from New Hampshire. We spent Monday driving up, and then Tuesday was service as was Wednesday and Thursday, then Friday we drove home.
We spent our nights playing cards (with two brothers who visited from France, Clemont and Mark) and swing dancing, and playing Catch Phrase until midnight, and eating, and cooking, and overall just having a fantastic 'ole time. Lindsey and I stayed up talking alot, and we all spent alot of time goofing off. (There was a whip cream incident, which i may post photos for later:P)
Anyways, the trip was a blast, and we all had fun. I'm excited to go back and stay!
