In the Beginning...

A plane and taxi ride to remember! Step into the time tunnel so Norma and I can catch you up with our adventures from the beginning. I will recap the rugby tour at a later date, however, you must keep in mind that I faithfully follow road code! Norma, Sharon, Beau and I bid the tour...

Getting Settled

The reason I wanted to settle down somewhere for a year and have something resembling a "normal life" is because I feel like I've become jaded. I realised this while I was travelling with Andi and then Nat and Shane, the photos they took and the things they found amazing were things that, while...

New Obsession, Please

Thems of you that know me personally will know that I've had a minor yet bordering on unhealthy obsession with the Sky Tower since I got to Auckland. Those of you who don't know me may have guessed on account of the millions of photos I've taken of it from every available angle. Not that it...

Getting Ready

Still trying to map out the trip, to maximise enjoyment and minimise costs. Need to make sure Joan can cope with sightseeing and travel. Susan

Fiji finished...then NEW ZEALAND!

After our 7 day excursion to the Yasawa islands, we headed back to the mainland & chilled for a couple of days at a Nadi resort hostel - which is basically a dorm bed at a proper resort. Expensive, but very nice! Whislt there we were treated to some traditional Fijian fire dancing...

Arriving

The traditional South Pacific greeting is difficult to tire of. I re-boarded the plane six times before a kill joy security officer put a stop to the fun. Fromner's and the other travel guides fail to adequately publicize this endearing greeting.

New Zealand - North Island

I dont even know where to start, how fantastic is New Zealand!!!! I dont want to put people off Australia, but this place is far better and thats not just because the Maori men can be rather cute!! The scenery is amazing, the people are friendly and everyone is chilled out. I arrived in...

Northlands - Day 7

So Kama was picked up and taken home and I headed out with Dive! Tutukaka to check out the Poor Knights Islands from underwater coz you're not actually allowed to set foot on them. As we were heading out and were being briefed on the marine life we could expect to see the boat jolted to a halt...
