The Great Train Journey begins...

So I'm on my way home... The slightly long overland route though, traveling on the Trans Mongolian and Trans Siberian Railway then through a bit of Europe before getting to Berlin before the end of November. So i wont be gracing your couches eating cheese and chutney sandwiches and generally...

The Fury and the Filth

So we have arrived in Mongolia. Well, the airport is less than 5 star. I wwould say a 2 at best. a grey concrete bunker of nothingness welcoming us into the country. it was a precursor of what was to come. should not have been surprised when the airport was such a dump. Basically, within...

Ulaanbaatar

Hmmm... Have you ever seen a war-ravaged nation on TV? That's what this city looks like. We went to the hostel, saw a massive Buddha statue in a monastery... Huge. Then we walked to town, saw the Natural History Museum... Dinosaur Bones... Then we spent 30 minutes trying to change money....

Chillin' with Chingis

I spent the last 4 days wandering about in rural Mongolia, sleeping in a Ger just outside of Kharkhorim, which is the village that now stands where Karakorum used to be. Nothing is left of the old capital except a couple stone turtles that used to mark its boundaries. Mongolia is really...

Global Domination!

Yalp! I'm in Mongolia now. Yeah that's right, freakin' Mongolia! I've moved in with 5 armies, and I'm about to roll on into Irkutsk. I should have all the green territories by the time I'm finished, and we all know that's 9 armies a turn. Let's see what your little exploits in North America pan...
