Aloha!

Friday Harbor, United States

It was a work of Debbie. The Island Aloha party. When in the works we contemplated roating a whole pig, but in the end, we stuck to store bought ham. Everybody gathered once again at the bailer hill house. It was not only a celbration but a time to say goodbye to another safarian, trevor.

An Inter-Island Kayak game of Dodgball!

Friday Harbor, United States

The date was set. It was San Juan Safaris against Crystal Sea's kayking. It was going to be an extreme game of dodgeball. We arrived to the dogeball Field in our blue kayaking teeshirts (most of us just getting off work).
. At first Blue outnumbered Crystal so rounds were set up. Then as more people arrived, the showdown began. Off to a good start, Blue was in the lead but unfortuntly not for long. As the sun began to set, the started to wind down. The game ended with some minor injuries (bruises, dislocated knee caps, ect.). And who could forgot trevor's classic dodgeball gameface!

skeet shooting and wold road

Friday Harbor, United States

As the summer winds down, slowly friends start to leave the island. The sad events leave only one options. PARTY! the last couple weeks have been packed with events with summer friends. The first to leave was scott, who in a few days would be crewing in the south pacific (not a bad switch up). before his good bye party we took advantage of the sun with some skeet shooting.
I was a bit rusty at first. A litte trigger happy then a little delayed. But then all those years of gopher shooting started to kick in and by the end i was an ace.
.

The goodbye continued down the end of wold road where with a mixed crew with a hardy supply of beer kept the party rolling.

The night consised of Scott, with numerous attempts, tried to tackle Debbie. It was all for fun and games and it ended with no injuries. The vaporizer was in full usewhen a group of sailor arrived. The were on the island for the race around Spiden, and for some reason nobody knew them. However they brought a packpack full of PBRs so they were a welcomed sight.

Lucy, the dog, hung out ont he back porch and was found to be a pro at finding hidden tennis balls in the dark woods behind the house. Gone for a while, the dog would always return with a slimy tennis ball. We left 3am with a couple narly bruised on my knees from failed attempts at limbo.

Who would have know that a fused back would not bend!

Moss Festival

Friday Harbor, United States

Stumbling through the woods at night could be considered a dangerous feat. However it was the Egg Lake Music Festival and the potential hazards would be worth it. The smell of bonfire and cannabis created a distinct aroma that became more noticeable as we approached. Finally the woods cleared to presents an outdoor music festival.

Moss Festival consisted of a laser light show, a bon fire, an beer garden and pizza kiln providing us with an endless supply of pizza and smoked salmon.

At first the music was a bit abrasive so we took a wander through the woods. The path was barley illuminated with solar lights that wound around with random patches where tents were pitched. The tents were covered with a variety of light images.

We were convinced that we would not make it out of the woods alive. Later, in the next morning's news, the local isalnders would read the news of the lost kids and proclaim "what on earth were they thinking?!"

The truth is we were not. Bottles on pbr and wine finished off as Reggie Hanson topped the night off with his Jimmi Hendrix covers and playing his guitar with his teeth. We danced carefree under the stars as Foxy Lady, Hey Joe, All Along the Watch Tower and other Jimmi favorites were played. The dying bonfire announced the winding down of the night. The island life is truely a great life.

PBR and 21st revisited

Friday Harbor, United States

this week was a three way birthday bananza!
they were not getting older but re-celebrating another 21st-
it kicked off it in herb's bar for wendsday night karaoke. then extended into friday morning at the bailer hill house where there was cake,a plether of pbr, a couple rounds of kings cup, a one story beer bong, and a game of strip spoons.

the game of king's cup started out as a pretty mellow game...but as the night progressed, so did the game...

the super long beer bong extended through a hole in the ceiling. to fill the bong, beer had to be poured from the second floor bed room...

This event was hosted by guess. it was open bar and no cover charge... which was trouble and of course fun. skiiers + booze = trouble....
