Bye Bye Laos!

Vientiane is pleasant enough. Its got street lights which was a shock and its really bloody hot. No hills all around its another town on the Mekong. Full of posh restaurant's and more Frenchman than is really necessary.

Just went on a tour of the sights yesterday with the massive Golden stupa the central attraction and a strange creation in the centre of town form the 60's a concrete Arc de triomph with Buddhist influence. Its pretty bloody ugly.

Other than that not a lot happened just been relaxing with a group of other travellers I met on the bus.

One incident of note, after a bit of booze went down to the BBQ stalls and decided on a shrimp (there bloody huge about 4 inches long) It was still alive in the bucket and when I'd picked the unfortunate one the stall holder simply picked it up and threw it live on the barely warm barbie. I felt bloody awful as it squirmed around for what seemed like ages.
Made sure I ate it though I think i've gone of seafood for a while.

Bus to Bangkok this evening, Bring on the riots!!!
