A stuttering start

Bangkok, Thailand

Arrived at dawn and strolled down the Khaosan Road (Backpacker central!) to find a bed and was flanked by folks stumbling home from there nights out. Got a bed and a couple of hours kip then forced my self up to get started on the visas. I had planed on getting 2 this week but it aint gonna happen.

They'll only give me a Chinese visa if I have flights out of the country and I'm planning on taking the train to Mongolia so that doesn't bode to well. However these stupid Olympic regulations are supposed to end on September 18th so that gives me a week to get it sorted before I head back north. No worries there really just a pain in the balls. Only problem is the Russian visa, I need to get that asap as it takes a while and I don't want to hang around in Bangkok forever, I've got diving to do! So i'm going to have to gamble and get the Russian visa then hope i'm approved later for the China one. If the China one still fails then i've spent $120 on a russian visa when I cant get there but never mind. Ah! the joys of government regulations
Bangkok is hot, wet and bloomin enormous. Can't tell you much more.
