Same same, but different

Vang Vieng is a pretty famous tourist spot in Laos, especially among the backpackers, because of its party atmosphere and dramatic landscape, ideal for practising extreme sports.
It sounds fun but, unfortunately, so much tourism is ruining the stunning magic of its emplacement, as it has led to the opening of hundreds of bars advertising cheap beer and whisky shots, with a loud TV broadcasting Friends episodes all day long (24 hours non-stop, really). Also too many young beautiful bodies hanging around in bathing suit, which is not really acceptable in Lao culture, with their beer cans and sunglasses. The same as any other party town in any other country. It's OK, but we didn't come this far to end up in Costa del Sol...
The short visit was worthy anyway, cause if you rent a bike and run away from the centre, the landscape is amazingly beautiful, and Laos is still Laos.

We're heading to Luang Prabang tomorrow, ready for a 8-10 hours tedious bus trip. Wish us well.
