Carepackage

Harbin, China

My best friend sent us a care package!!!! Yeah! I love mail!
Our mail goes to our boss and then he calls us and we come get it. His office is about 3/4 a mile from our apartment. I took both Princess and Little Guy in the stroller.
Little Guy was so dejected when he saw the package. I loaded it on the stroller and he pointed to the box and to himself. I smiled and nodded. He just looked confused. The whole walk home he is pointing to the box and to himself. I decided that maybe he was too excited and wouldn't want to share so I pointed to the box and to Princess and him. He looked even further worn down. So we keep walking, and pointing to the box. Finally he shrugs, points to the box and puts on his foster mom's expression and does a thumbs up followed by an airplane sign.
I understood. The last box he got was our care package. The one thing they had done to explain his adoption to him was indicate that it was good and he would go on an airplane. He thought inside the box was his next family's picture. Or that Princess was going to a new family.
Wow.
We opened the box and he is just so sweet and easy to please! She sent matchbox cars. He opened one and kindly started passing out the other cars to the rest of the family. He was just amazed when we showed him that all the cars were for him. Then she sent some underwear. The stuff they sell in China is the no fly style. Actually maybe little dudes don't always wear that cause we don't see many in his size and he came commando. So we pull out a pair and show him. He signs swimming! And he grabs his goggles and does a couple of swimming poses.
Luckily my friend forgot to put any pictures in the box, so he should be a little less insecure.
Princess got some cool duds and Teenager got some sweet Teenybopper magazines. I got some chocolate.
I'm really thankful for the chocolate cause our town is in the news with the big bug and we now are confined to the campus somewhat and the chocolate supply is pitiful.
Speaking of care packages, we can still send the cool face critters to future adoptees in a care package. Please email or leave a comment if you're interested.
