Happy Easter

Perth, Australia

I wanted to blog about the four day Easter Weekend as it marked the end of the four and half months in the city I fell in love with but as it was conducted entirely through a haze of goon and sleep deprivation you'll have to wade through the following bollocks to find some sense.

Friday
Got in from work at about 4.30am and was greeted by Raz, Sarah, the Aussie boys and several litres of goon.

Today was mainly spent trying not to sleep for fear of waking up with things missing such as eyebrows and dignity, I got back from the shower to find Raz passed out on the floor with Crispy and Alex standing over him with a razor, a biro and a tube of superglue. I dutifully fetched the penis shaped ice mold from the freezer in our room.

The rest of the day was spent down by the river drinking goon and generally getting in touch with our inner backpacker.

Saturday
I can't even remember what I did today. I know we had a full English breakfast cooked Aussie style on the BBQ and I know I went to work in the evening but everything in between must have been stored in the part of my brain that leaked out of my ear yesterday.

Sunday
Began drinking early as tonight would be my last shift at Connies. I'm gonna miss that club and the people there so fucking much, seriously, it's never been so hard to leave a job before.

Sunday seamlessly melted into Monday with the aid of vodka and goon.

Monday
Goon. Coma. Goon. Beer. Goon. Coma.

Man, I could have stuck to that couch forever. I was so content, glued to the sofa slipping in and out of consciousness. I decided I wasn't ever leaving Perth or indeed the TV room, I was going to remain in that spot for the rest of my life being handed pies and cans of coke.

Then I had to go for a piss and the spell was broken. I decided to resume drinking.

You know normally when you have a hangover you just have a dull ache in one part of your head? Well my entire brain felt swollen, I felt like I should drill holes in my temples to relieve the pressure. I needed alcohol that wasn't goon before my basic motor functions failed me so I went to the pub with Emily, Swoop and another mate of theirs.

After the pub me and Swoop returned to the goon. Beer runs out. Goon never does. Goon will always be there for you and when you forsake it in favour of beer it always forgives you and takes you back.

At least until the following morning when it exacts a horrific revenge.

I left for Kal this morning nusing my aching kidneys and wondering how much a liver transplant would be on the black market.

So, how was your weekend?
