Lístopad

Namche Bazar, Nepal

A takhle mluví Wendy a Zoe. „Tid!“ zavolají a Ted se kupodivu otočí. A dneska už máme „Novimber“, jak ráno konstatovala Zoe. Je to jako říkat třeba „lístopad“.

.......................

Novimber

Zoe is from New Zealand. She seems to be a friend of Wendy who is also from there. They often sit together and chat. You can tell where they are from at the moment they start to speak. When I once arrived to Auckland, I wanted a woman in uniform to tell me where is the baggage claim area. "Lift!" she barked and waved her hand to the left. I looked for a lift which was not there, she was just directing me to the left.

And this is how Wendy and Zoe speak. "Tid!" they call, and surprisingly, Ted turns to them. And today, we have the month of "Novimber", as Zoe stated at breakfast. It is as if Czechs called this month "lístopad".
