Day 4 in Ho Chi Minh City and trip begins tomorrow!

Greetings Top Gear Fans! It is time for me to start my homage to Top Gear's Viet Nam Adventure. I am on Day 4 of my visit in Ho Chi Minh City and I have had a wonderful time here so far. I like my little guesthouse where I have a huge double room for about $17 a night (expensive here) and...

"Ooooh Finlaaand!"

Sain tervetulotoivotukseni. Ho Chi Minh Cityssa jokainen asukas tuntuu olevan mootooripyoralla...

Saigon

This is the third time we have been in Saigon. It is showing signs of modernization with new skyscrapers downtown and a lot of high-rise apartment building construction. The roads are still dominated by motor scooters with very few automobiles. It is HOT and HUMID here.

I'm in Vietnam!

The bus journey from Kampot (Cambodia) to Ho Chi Mihn City (HCMC) in Vietnam was without a doubt the worst of my life. I got on the minibus at 9.30 and was lulled into a false sense of security by a relatively wasy border crossing. Once across the border we stopped, were taken off the bus and...

I Honestly Never Understood the Phrase "I Cant Hear Myself Think" Until Now...

Today we attended a Vietnamese wedding. It was Hung and Huans' Grandpa's brother' grandson that was getting married...if that makes any sense at all. Unlike Cambodia weddings where the people simply erect a tent on any street regardless if its blocking cars or motos in neighbors' garages, the...
